NCL Joint Health and Overview Scrutiny Committee - November 2025
Our Healthwatch Haringey Chair Sophie Woodhead attended the NCL Joint Health and Overview Scrutiny Committee on Friday 21 November with Dan Rogers, CEO of Public Voice, the host organisation for Healthwatch Haringey. We were also joined by our colleagues from Healthwatch Camden.
The agenda items included:
- The NHS10 Year Health Plan
- Neighbourhood health model
- Proposals for the future of Healthwatch
The Committee discussed:
- The importance of resident and community needs shaping NCL's approach to delivering services at a neighbourhood level, as set out in the NHS 10 Year Health Plan
- The impact on community involvement of the 50% reduction in scale of the ICB, and the merger of NCL and North West London ICBs
We emphasised:
- The vital role of independent patient and resident voice for the health and care system - noting its necessity growing in the current context of ICB changes and ambitions for neighbourhoods working
- The role of Healthwatch and urged the Committee to recognise this and commit to maintaining an independent patient voice service for North Central London.
We will continue to attend future meetings to engage with the NCL Joint Health and Overview Scrutiny Committee to get their commitment to support continued independent resident and patient voice.
